Secretary of State Rex Tillerson may not hold that title much longer.
The New York Times reports the White House has a plan to force Tillerson out and replace him with current CIA Director Mike Pompeo in the coming weeks.
Plus in early October, NBC News reported Tillerson was on the verge of resigning over the summer but that Vice President Mike Pence swooped in to ease tensions.
The outlet also reported Tillerson called Trump a “moron” after a meeting at the Pentagon. Tillerson denied NBC’s claims and said he never considered leaving his post.
The Times says Pompeo then would be replaced by Sen. Tom Cotton, who reportedly advises Trump on foreign policy. It’s unclear if Trump has approved the plan.
